The new application window to the SME Support Fund started on March 1st. The SME Fund, worth 20 million euros, is a joint initiative of EUIPO and the European Commission to encourage SMEs to use Industrial Property.

Launched on December 18th 2020, the SME Fund - Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund - worth 20 million euros, provides vouchers to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) based in the European Union to access and benefit from their Intellectual Property (IP) rights.

Open to all EU companies that fall under the official definition of SMEs, this program offers financial support in the form of reimbursements for applications for trademark and design registrations, up to a maximum amount of EUR 1,500 per company.

The second financing window started on March 1st 2021 and ends on March 31st.

This project also envisages other three financing windows that will take place throughout 2021.

This project is managed by the European Union Intellectual Property Institute (EUIPO), through its ‘Ideas Powered for Business’ programme, as part of the European Commission's IP action plan. It is developed in cooperation with EU national and regional intellectual property offices.
