The impact that Geographical Indications deliver all economic actors - more specifically the exclusive right to make and sell certain products, which helps them to obtain a return on the investments made in their production and commercialization - requires special attention and a deep discussion. Especially in a in a time such as this: when the world has undergone major changes as a result of the progress of globalization, along with the impressive pace of technological progress and the deepening of economic liberation, the debate is certainly mandatory.

By putting together this webinar, the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property aims to provide the opportunity to reflect on this matter. The webinar will have the participation of national and international renowned speakers, including the Portuguese Secretary of State for Justice, Anabela Pedroso. Such participations will certainly give information and knowledge to all attendees on the protection of the authenticity of their products, thus contributing to an increasingly globalized market, which is devoid of undue appropriations.
