The online platform WIPO GREEN is a marketplace for sustainable technologies aimed at endorsing innovation and dissemination of technologies related with the environment. It is a contact point for technologies suppliers with people who search for technologies, offering a number of services aimed at encouraging commercial trades that benefit both parts.

WIPO GREEN comprises two elements: WIPO GREEN Database and WIPO GREEN Network.

WIPO GREEN DB purpose is to provide a worldwide visibility to green products or inventor’s needs in this area.

The WIPO GREEN database is a unique catalogue of sustainable solutions and needs across the world. It also provides the possibility to find partners and discover business and investment opportunities.

WIPO GREEN Network allows inventors to establish contacts with potential partners and investors at events and exhibitions, promoting their services and also enabling them to search on the WIPO GREEN Expert Data Base for finding the experts they need in order to develop their businesses, thus benefiting from resources and training on IP, trading, licensing, among others.

The WIPO GREEN Network includes international organisations, IP institutes, trade and business associations, multinational companies, government and financial bodies, universities and research centres, among others.

WIPO GREEN is, therefore, a global platform that establishes relationships between its users. It promotes partnerships and offers a market for inventions, technologies, know-how and green services.

At INPI, we are quite aware of the significance of preserving and caring for our planet and the role that we have in promoting initiatives that lead to a greener future.

As a WIPO GREEN partner, INPI will put together a webinar during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Council, with the purpose of debating the protection of innovative solutions in the area of green technologies as a way of promoting the economic development and growth of modern societies, in accordance with one of the five lines of the Portuguese Presidency “Green Europe: Promoting the EU as a leader in climate action”.
